THE STORY OF THE TIGER'S EYE

During Antiquity, Roman warriors used tiger's eye to protect themselves during battles. A symbol of luck and protection, the tiger's eye was also used in the Middle Ages. Worn around the neck, it helped block spells cast and ward off evil spirits.

The yellow and brown colors of this stone recall the appearance of tiger's eye, which is why throughout the centuries, tiger's eye was used to protect against the evil eye.

In the 19th century, deposits of tiger's eye were discovered in South Africa for the first time. The stone was then considered precious due to the rarity of its deposits. Initially, sold at a significant price, it decreased with the discovery of new deposits in the country. The tiger's eye then became a semi-precious stone.

PROPERTIES OF TIGER’S EYE

Its name comes from its resemblance to the tiger's eye. The warm, changing tones of this stone can make you feel like you're looking into the feline's eyes. There are varieties: hawk's eye and bull's eye, which have blue and red shades respectively. All these varieties belong to the quartzite family.

Its main deposits are in South Africa, Australia, Brazil, India, Madagascar and Russia.
